As an Armed Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate professionally, and contribute through teamwork, integrity, and our caring, people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Have at least six months of security-related experience.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following campus protocols and contacting appropriate responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazards, policy violations, and maintenance concerns through required reporting channels.
  • Maintain a professional armed presence while following all applicable laws, licensing requirements, training standards, and Allied Universal policies.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
