About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer Patrol Driver in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The officer will support a government corrections location, safeguarding clients through armed patrols, access monitoring, incident response, and customer service. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license and armed qualifications. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday from 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM. The pay rate is $21.50 per hour.
Requirements
- Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
- Have at least 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials, and report unauthorized entry attempts, suspicious activity, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as directed.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation regarding patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities.
