As a Security Officer Full Time Armed Patrol Driver in Elizabeth City, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • An Armed Guard Card/License is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections-related location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting activity and communicating with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, checkpoints, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or access authorization, and report suspicious, unusual, or restricted activity in accordance with post orders and location requirements.
  • Support order at the location by observing inmate movement areas, staff work areas, and visitor access points, while following established protocols for reporting hazards, incidents, and/or operational concerns.
