About The Position

As a Armed Security Officer - Area Surveillance in Tempe, AZ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess 1+ year of law enforcement experience, 2+ years of security-related supervisor/manager experience, or 3+ years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and applicable procedures.
  • Monitor access points and help maintain authorized entry procedures for personnel, visitors, vehicles, and deliveries as assigned.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs for patrols, incidents, observations, and interactions with public agency representatives and emergency responders.
