About The Position

Advanced Professional Security (APS) is hiring an armed security officer to maintain a secure environment at a bank location in Golden, Colorado. The officer will help protect staff, customers, and assets; respond to emergencies; enforce security protocols; and coordinate with law enforcement. The position is posted at the client’s CU of Colorado location and is scheduled Saturdays from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., with additional work as needed. Compensation is $23.50 per hour. The posting remains open until the necessary positions are filled.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 21 years of age.
• At least 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or the military.
• Valid firearms permit and ability to carry a firearm.
• Knowledge of applicable local laws and regulations.
• Ability to follow instructions provided in written or oral English and to speak and comprehend English without translation.
• Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in high-stress situations and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Neat, well-groomed, professional appearance.
• Ability to meet special qualifications specified in post orders or other relevant protocols and directives.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Banking experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the bank premises and use surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify identification, and maintain visitor logs.
• Respond to alarms, theft, vandalism, and disturbances, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
• Document incidents and security breaches in detailed reports and maintain accurate daily activity logs using Belfry.
• Assist customers and employees, address concerns, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Ensure firearms, surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security equipment are operational, and report malfunctions.
• Stay current with security protocols, laws, and bank policies, and participate in ongoing training.
• Collaborate with bank management, staff, and local law enforcement to enhance security measures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
