About The Position

The Armed Security Guard maintains a professional, visible security presence to deter threats and protect employees, customers, and bank property. The role includes monitoring activity, controlling access, patrolling designated areas, responding to incidents, and following established emergency procedures. The guard documents security events, complies with employer procedures and applicable laws, and coordinates with bank management, security supervisors, emergency responders, and law enforcement as appropriate.

Requirements

Valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC), where applicable.
Valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card and required firearms credentials.
Required armed-security training and current qualifications.
Relevant security, military, or law-enforcement experience, depending on the posting.
Background screening and any required drug testing.
Strong observation, communication, report-writing, and conflict-management skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain a professional, visible armed security presence to deter threats and protect employees, customers, and bank property.
Observe activity inside and outside the facility and report suspicious behavior.
Monitor entrances, verify authorization when required, and help prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
Conduct assigned foot or vehicle patrols of designated areas, parking facilities, and building perimeters.
Respond to alarms, disturbances, threats, and emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
Communicate calmly with customers and employees, manage conflicts professionally, and request police assistance when necessary.
Follow established protocols for robberies, medical emergencies, fire alarms, and other security incidents.
Complete accurate reports, shift logs, and records of suspicious activity or security events.
Follow employer procedures, firearms policies, applicable Illinois licensing requirements, and relevant laws.
Coordinate with bank management, security supervisors, emergency responders, and law enforcement as appropriate.
