About The Position

Eaton’s North American Sales division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join its team. This role will be based at our City of Industry, CA office, and candidates must reside in this area to be considered. The role provides leadership of a sales team and management of a defined customer base and channels to achieve district results. Responsibilities include developing and implementing sales strategies, conducting market intelligence, and delivering customer presentations to grow sales and market share. What you’ll do: The role will be responsible for managing a customer base, sales resources, products and channels to market to achieve planned results for the district. This individual will provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales reps and the distributor channel. Expected results include but are not limited to growth in sales and market share, channel development as well as developing talent within the district. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution
  • Minimum seven (7) years electrical industry sales/marketing and/or engineering experience
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of City of Industry, CA to be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Nice To Haves

  • Manager of people experience
  • 10+ years of electrical industry sales experience
  • Previous experience managing people and channels
  • Superior knowledge of sales techniques, customers, customer relations and employee development
  • Strong knowelge of managing products, product appliations and distribution channels
  • Significant sales presence such as that the candidate can clearly command in difficult sales situations
  • Experience in growing sales and market share, channel development and developing employee talent

Responsibilities

  • Manage the assigned customer base, to increase sales in the local marketplace
  • Provide application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers
  • Develop and implement sales strategies designed to stress value-added upgrades while achieving maximum profit margin and ensuring optimum levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Promote, develop and maintain close working relationships with client representatives responsible for making purchasing decisions. Interact with relevant parties to manage and negotiate sales, and reach agreement on associated controversial issues.
  • Manage or conduct analyses of product trends and competitive pressures, current and emerging client needs, and purchasing and maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate and make presentations to influence customers of the economic, technical and operational benefits and features of Eaton’s products and solutions.
  • Provide or arrange for technical assistance to resolve customer problems and enhance relations
  • develop, grow, and maintain relationships with Eaton employees, engineers, contractors, and customers including Eaton Authorized Distributors
  • Participate in the preparation and presentation of bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines, and use sound business judgment to enhance margins and establish a winning strategy
  • Support total quality efforts by providing timely and accurate information for order entry, elevating quality issues to attention of management.
  • Ensure that accurate information flows to and from customers.
  • Implement new product programs as needed.
  • Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits.
  • Provide necessary reports requested by management in a timely manner,
  • Maintain up-to-date project /orders opportunity tracking tool.
  • Work with management to improve on sales forecasting
