About The Position

We’re seeking a driven and technically skilled Area Sales Manager to lead and grow sales efforts for Valmet Flow Control solutions—including channel-sales and support, projects, and services. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in valves, instrumentation, or automation, and a passion for building lasting customer relationships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing technical sales activities (capital, project, and services) for valves and automation within a specified geography, product line, and market segment to achieve established sales targets. Territory: Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana

Requirements

  • Technical acumen for valves, instrumentation, or automation systems
  • Proven experience as a technical account manager or similar role
  • 3+ Years of relevant experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently and travel up to 40%

Responsibilities

  • Support and grow the sales of Valmet Flow Control products in their given territory, focusing on channel management.
  • Coordinate and participate in area sales activities in the assigned territory for sales support and business development of Valmet Flow Control products and services.
  • Ensure that end customer coverage is balanced and managed among channel partners.
  • Support an annual sales forecast by product mix and remain responsible for achieving quota with a balance across the brands.
  • Develop and execute a yearly strategic sales/marketing plan supported by individual goals and sales objectives.
  • Maintain ongoing personal relationships with distributors and common customers by having a physical presence in the assigned territory.
  • Ensure area account penetration and coverage are balanced, executing personal travel as backed by planning, goals, and objectives.
  • Work and travel within a given T&E expense budget.
  • Conduct ongoing market area analysis related to trends such as industry changes, competition, and pricing.
  • Communicate market trends to sales and product management for potential growth opportunities and strategy adjustments.
  • Ensure adherence to Company’s sales, marketing, and service policies as they relate to the sales of goods and services by and through distribution.
  • Participate in industry organizations and networking opportunities with local valve and instrumentation trade groups.
