About The Position

The Area Office Coordinator (AOC) plays a vital role in supporting the operational success of multiple Care Hospice Locations in Tennessee. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WORKING FOR A HOSPICE OR HOME HEALTH COMPANY. The Area Office Coordinator (AOC) provides leadership, EMR training, audits, and guidance to administrative teams; supports documentation processes; and helps optimize systems and workflows across locations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional who enjoys mentoring others, analyzing processes, and contributing to high-quality hospice care. While this position is remote, the successful candidate must be comfortable traveling up to 50% of the time to support assigned locations, attend meetings, and build strong partnerships with operational leaders. It is strongly preferred that the candidate live in the Area they are supporting - Tennessee. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive healthcare administrative experience
  • Hospice or home healthcare experience required
  • Knowledge of hospice operations, healthcare documentation, regulatory compliance, payroll, billing, and office operations strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or comparable software, as well as experience working in EMR and HRIS systems
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is in accordance with state and organizational requirements and is in good working order
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to take initiative, set priorities, multitask, and organize work. Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Support consistent, high-quality business office operations across multiple hospice locations through training, tools, and best-practice guidance
  • Partner with Area and Program leadership to analyze operational and administrative data, identify trends, and drive process improvements
  • Lead onboarding, refresher training, and ongoing education for administrative staff; develop clear job aids, workflows, and standard operating procedures
  • Serve as a key resource for EMR systems, collaborating with Education, IT, Clinical, and Operations teams on training, troubleshooting, and system optimization
  • Support accurate and timely payroll and billing processes by reinforcing documentation standards, resolving discrepancies, and helping prevent billing delays
  • Promote timely, accurate admissions and discharge documentation through audits, reporting, and HIPAA-compliant practices
  • Maintain standardized processes and reporting for area-level office operations, including supplies, equipment, meetings, and vendor coordination
  • Track administrative workforce data to support onboarding, training completion, and compliance in partnership with HR and Operations
  • Model organizational values and hospice philosophy through professionalism, collaboration, and compassionate service
