Area Ministry Director - Western PA (Undergraduate Ministries)

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship•Remote, PA
•$56,844 - $75,792

About The Position

The Area Ministry Director leads and oversees a ministry team that plants and grows witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus on college and university campuses. The goal is to increase the number and reach of these communities and to support the transformation of students and faculty from all ethnic groups and parts of campus through the gospel. The role aims to help campuses become places where people, ideas, and structures flourish for the common good and the glory of God. The director models spiritual maturity and leads campus ministry by inspiring, coaching, developing, and supervising campus staff ministers, students, faculty, and ministry partners. The position sets ministry vision and goals, develops and adapts plans and programs, recruits and develops ministers, builds a diverse and effective ministry team, and collaborates with local, regional, and national colleagues and volunteers. The director also oversees operational and administrative responsibilities, including reporting, finances, budgeting, and compliance with organizational policies. Ministry Partnership Development is a core part of the role: the director develops financial, prayer, and volunteer support networks, ensures the ministry budget is funded, supports staff fundraising, and communicates regularly with ministry partners. The position leads ministry in a college campus environment. A designated office space may or may not be available, and travel to campus and off-campus locations is required. The role routinely involves communication and use of standard office equipment.
