About The Position

The Area Manager (AM) serves as the primary tactical executor on the warehouse floor. They are responsible for driving safety, leading frontline teams, and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve daily operational targets. Success in this role is defined by an obsession with detail, a commitment to being a "coach first," and maintaining a consistent presence where the work happens.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics leadership role.
  • Strong ability to coach and lead direct teams in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in analyzing performance data and executing daily operational adjustments.
  • Clear and confident communicator with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Able to direct and make key decisions related to specific tasks and responsibilities in day-to-day operations.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and stoop for extended periods (10 to 12 hour shifts).
  • Frequent climbing of ladders and step stools required.
  • Manual dexterity to operate setup tools and equipment.
  • Must be physically able to work in varying environmental conditions (hot/cold).

Responsibilities

  • Own the tactical minute-by-minute execution, identifying and removing physical or systemic barriers to keep operations moving.
  • Provide real-time feedback to the Operations Manager on labor effectiveness and volume spikes requiring mid-shift adjustments.
  • Own "In-the-Moment" Coaching, providing high-frequency, tactical feedback on the floor, correcting behaviors, and delivering immediate behavioral accountability.
  • Execute training plans designed by the Operations Manager, ensuring correct integration of new hires.
  • Provide data to the Operations Manager regarding associates consistently failing to meet standards despite coaching.
  • Own the "Safety First" culture on the floor, ensuring PPE compliance, clean aisles, and professional conduct.
  • Escalate structural safety concerns or recurring behavioral issues to the Operations Manager for formal performance management.
  • Solve the "symptoms" of the day, acting as the first responder to restore flow when issues arise (e.g., line down, scanner broken).
  • Document daily occurrences to help the General Manager identify long-term "process diseases" requiring strategic fixes.
