About The Position

Spreetail is seeking a driven and adaptable Area Manager to join its Away Team. This team supports facility launches, crisis response, and network-wide operations excellence. This is a non-traditional, non-site-based role where you will be embedded across the fulfillment center network, learning the operating model from the ground up and deploying where needed. Upon completion of the initial phase, you will transition into a permanent leadership role at a new fulfillment center, equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead from day one. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in change, learn quickly, and desire a clear path to site ownership, offering accelerated growth and insight into building a network-scale fulfillment operation.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of management or leadership experience.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience in standard operating procedure documentation.
  • A genuine commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to give and receive positive and negative feedback.
  • Willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, with potential for more based on network needs.
  • Openness to relocation when placed at a future Spreetail fulfillment center.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and extended hours during peak periods or facility activations.

Responsibilities

  • Embed in assigned fulfillment centers during the onboarding period, contributing to daily inbound and outbound operations and building deep fluency in Spreetail’s operating model.
  • Deploy into focus or crisis facilities when the Away Team is activated, providing rapid operational support to stabilize performance and accelerate recovery.
  • Hold regular 1:1s with Leads to maximize training opportunities, address concerns, and contribute to the growth and development of fulfillment center team members.
  • Identify and drive process improvements that result in greater efficiency, accuracy, and safety across supported sites.
  • Champion a safety-first culture at every facility supported, assessing conditions, identifying and addressing unsafe behaviors or hazards, and treating near-misses as learning opportunities.
  • Travel to assigned or activated facilities a minimum of 25% of the time, with potential for increase based on network needs and launch timing.
  • Prepare to transition into a permanent Area Manager role at a new Spreetail fulfillment center.
