The Pacific Northwest (PNW) Area Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational performance, safety, compliance, customer service, and employee development of assigned branch locations within the Pacific Northwest region. This role provides direct leadership and support to branch managers and supervisors while ensuring adherence to Company policies, procedures, operational standards, and regulatory requirements. The Area Manager serves as the primary operational liaison between branch leadership and the Sr. Manager CIT Operations and is responsible for driving operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the region.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Five (5) years of operations, logistics, transportation, armored transportation, security, or related leadership experience.
  • Three (3) years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience leading multiple locations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and transportation safety requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze operational metrics and drive performance improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational technology platforms.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive operational information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple branches and teams.
  • Must be able to successfully pass all required background checks and meet company security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of assigned branch locations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and support to Branch Managers and Supervisors.
  • Monitors branch performance metrics and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists branches in resolving operational challenges, staffing shortages, customer concerns, and service disruptions.
  • Ensures consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards across all assigned locations.
  • Promotes a culture of safety and accountability throughout assigned branches.
  • Conducts regular branch visits, facility inspections, vehicle inspections, and operational audits.
  • Reviews safety incidents, vehicle accidents, near misses, and workers' compensation claims and ensures appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensures compliance with DOT regulations, company safety programs, OSHA requirements, state regulations, and customer security requirements.
  • Partners with HR and Safety leadership on investigations, corrective actions, and compliance initiatives.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to Branch Managers and Supervisors.
  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning efforts.
  • Assists in performance management activities, including employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and development planning.
  • Identifies leadership development opportunities and supports management training initiatives.
  • Builds strong employee engagement and promotes positive workplace culture.
  • Supports customer retention by assisting branches with service-related issues and operational concerns.
  • Participates in customer meetings as needed to address service expectations and operational performance.
  • Ensures assigned branches meet customer contractual obligations and service standards.
  • Supports implementation of new customers, routes, operational changes, and business growth initiatives.
  • Conducts periodic operational audits to ensure compliance with company procedures and security requirements.
  • Reviews route performance, labor utilization, overtime trends, vehicle utilization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and works collaboratively with branch leadership to implement solutions.
  • Assists with company-wide projects, policy rollouts, system implementations, and operational initiatives.
  • Maintains a visible presence within assigned branches through regular onsite visits.
  • Travels throughout the Pacific Northwest region as needed to support operations, training, audits, investigations, and customer needs.
  • Responds to significant operational incidents and emergencies as necessary.
