About The Position

This position is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The Area Manager will monitor and manage the productivity of their area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. They will maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation. This role involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. Additionally, the Area Manager will supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of belonging, and creating opportunities for all associates to thrive. It also involves working collaboratively, communicating effectively to motivate and influence, attracting and retaining talent, empowering development, and recognizing contributions. The Area Manager is expected to act with integrity, maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, and supporting Walmart's goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact. They will serve customers by delivering results with a customer-first approach, adapting to how, where, and when customers shop, and applying EDLP and EDLC business models. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year's supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year's Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years' Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, and identifying training and development needs.
  • Build high-performing teams, embrace differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences, and create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected through a culture of belonging.
