About The Position

AlphaBEST Education is seeking an Area Manager to lead before- and after-school programs across multiple school-based sites in Suffolk, Virginia. The role focuses on creating safe, engaging, discovery-filled learning environments and supporting children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. The Area Manager leads and develops site teams, collaborates with regional leadership and community stakeholders, addresses concerns, evaluates program safety and performance, and supports customer relationships and growth. Requirements

• Previous experience in an elementary school, school administration, or school-age childcare setting is strongly desired.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
• Knowledge of state policies and procedures regarding child care regulations.

Nice To Haves

• A BA or BS in Education, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.
• A master’s degree or higher is a plus.
• Basic Microsoft Office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set the tone for the team based on AlphaBEST’s core values.
• Ensure programs across the area’s sites support children’s physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
• Collaborate with peers, the Regional Leadership Team, staff, parents, and school administrators to develop AlphaBEST in the area.
• Respond to and resolve stakeholders’ concerns.
• Hire and develop exceptional, diverse, high-performing team members, including Site Directors and Group Leaders.
• Evaluate program safety and performance and make corrections as necessary.
• Build sustainable community partnerships with local business leaders and organizations.
• Maintain existing customer relationships and develop new growth opportunities.
• Provide a caring, family-oriented environment that fosters positive relationships among staff, children, parents, and schools.
