About The Position

The goal of area management is to create a participative work environment that encourages continuous improvement and a customer responsive attitude amongst all employees. Each employee must realize that other employees are their customers and that they must work to satisfy this customer as well as our ultimate customer. The Area Manager / Production Supervisor promotes safe working practices in a safe and orderly environment. They meet and exceed all legislated standards, procedures, rules and practices for loss control. They ensure that all aspects of the area under their supervision are in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations. This position ensures consistent production of a quality product. They are responsible for communicating, executing and meeting all quality goals by following the approved systems set out and for contributing ideas for improvements to these systems where possible. Responsible to plan, organize and control the areas under their supervision to ensure that shift schedules, work schedules and standards for productivity and efficiency are met or exceeded. They will work diligently to eliminate scrap, rework, interruption to processes, waste of perishable goods and supplies (e.g. gloves) and ensure safe and productive use of our human resources. Responsible for promoting the goals and practices of continuous improvement by creating an environment where those under their supervision shall contribute ideas and suggestions. The Area Manager / Production Supervisor shall ensure that all those under their supervision are customer responsive. This is understood to mean that employees are responsible for providing the best possible product and service to each other as well as to the ultimate customer.
