About The Position

This position is responsible for implementing the business plan for their area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals. They will monitor and manage productivity by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. Maintaining quality and safety standards is crucial, which involves ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing procedures. The role also involves identifying and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervising and developing associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. Additionally, the Area Manager will facilitate carrier operations by processing and monitoring claims, working with carriers and the home office on resolution, scheduling carrier unloads, and resolving concerns to maximize benefits to the facility and carrier needs. They will also manage the processing of shipload purchase orders, inbound containers, and claims by monitoring activities, conducting problem research, and ensuring correct freight processing. Requirements

  • Associates' Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
  • Facilitate carrier operations by processing and monitoring carrier claims, working with carriers and home office on resolution of claims, scheduling carrier unloads, and resolving concerns to maximize benefits to the operation of the facility and carrier needs.
  • Manage processing of shipload purchase orders, inbound containers, and claims by monitoring all activities, conducting problem research, and ensuring that all freight is processed correctly.
