About The Position

This position implements the business plan for the area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals in production, quality, and safety. The role involves monitoring and managing the productivity of the area by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports. It also requires maintaining quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, monitoring compliance, and distributing supporting documentation. The Area Manager will identify and resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns, and supervise and develop associates and leaders by assigning duties, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and identifying training needs. A key aspect of the role is managing the troubleshooting of systems applications by working with the Information Systems Division (ISD) and vendors on problem resolution and supporting the continuing development of current and future systems applications. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field and 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field OR 2 year's Walmart Logistics experience in an Information Systems environment maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems (e.g., networks, computer hardware and software) OR 2 years Information Systems related supervisory experience OR 2 years experience in an Information Systems environment maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems (e.g., networks, computer hardware and software).
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies/standards/procedures, monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures, and distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
  • Manage the troubleshooting of systems applications by working on systems problem resolution with Information Systems Division (ISD) and vendors and supporting the continuing development of current and future systems applications.
