About The Position

The Area Manager - Systems position is responsible for managing systems operations within the grocery sector. This role involves ensuring associates have a solid understanding of systems procedures for high-quality operations, adherence to company policies, and proper handling of accidents and emergencies. The manager will identify and respond to customer compliance and operational issues related to systems, taking steps to prevent recurrence. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management) OR Associate's Degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics); and 1 year experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
  • OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics supervisor or manager; supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • OR 3 years experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees.
  • OR 3 years experience in an Information Systems environment maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems (e.g., networks, computer hardware and software).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in the area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, monitoring associate compliance, and distributing/maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in the area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation.
  • Monitor and manage the productivity of the area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others to determine corrective action or make recommendations.
  • Implement the business plan for the area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Manages Systems Operations: Demonstrates and communicates solid working knowledge of systems procedures to help associates conduct high-quality systems operations.
  • Ensures associates adhere to company policies, standards, and procedures related to systems operations.
  • Helps associates understand and use procedures for systems operations, handling accidents and emergencies, and maintaining equipment that is safe and in proper working order.
  • Identifies and appropriately responds to customer compliance and operational issues related to systems operations, taking steps to prevent recurrence.
