About The Position

This position is responsible for managing systems operations within a grocery environment, ensuring associates have a solid working knowledge of systems procedures to conduct high-quality operations. The role involves demonstrating and communicating systems procedures, ensuring adherence to company policies, and helping associates understand and use procedures for systems operations, accident handling, and equipment maintenance. The Area Manager will identify and respond to customer compliance and operational issues related to systems, taking steps to prevent recurrence. The role also emphasizes building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of belonging, attracting and retaining talent, and acting with integrity, ethics, and compliance. The position requires a focus on serving customers by delivering results, adapting to customer shopping behaviors, and applying business models. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management) OR Associate's Degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics); and 1 year experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees OR 1 year experience as a Walmart Logistics supervisor or manager; supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 3 years experience supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing employees, managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees OR 3 years experience in an Information Systems environment maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems (e.g., networks, computer hardware and software).

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates).
  • Maintain quality and safety standards in area of responsibility by ensuring associates are trained on Logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures; monitoring associate compliance to policies and procedures; distributing and maintaining procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Supervise and develop associates and leaders in area of responsibility by assigning duties and coordinating workloads, monitoring performance and providing feedback, teaching, supporting, and modeling Logistics and company policies and procedures, identifying training and development needs, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.
  • Monitor and manage productivity of area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and/or analyzing business reports.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine corrective action to take or make recommendations in order to resolve.
  • Implement the business plan for area of responsibility by communicating goals, managing staffing and scheduling, assigning duties, and coordinating workloads in order to achieve facility goals (e.g., production, quality, safety).
  • Manages Systems Operations: Demonstrates and communicates solid working knowledge of systems procedures to help associates conduct high-quality systems operations.
  • Ensures associates adhere to company policies, standards, and procedures related to systems operations.
  • Helps associates understand and use procedures for systems operations, handling accidents and emergencies, and maintaining equipment that is safe and in proper working order.
  • Identifies and appropriately responds to customer compliance and operational issues related to systems operations, taking steps to prevent recurrence.
