About The Position

This role focuses on ensuring safe and efficient production on the shop floor. The Area Manager is responsible for guiding team members to meet quality and production goals, implementing process controls, and fostering a multi-skilled workforce. The position involves direct supervision, including training, coaching, and disciplinary actions, as well as managing production schedules, overtime, and reporting. The Area Manager also plays a key role in quality assurance, cost reduction initiatives, and maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prevent the reoccurrence of making non-conforming parts by generating ideas to detect or eliminate issues.
  • Audit team performance.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activity.
  • Set up procedures for the implementation of process control.
  • Assist with cross-training team members to create multi-functional employees.
  • Teach, train, coach, and assist team members, and has authority to discipline as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling overtime and die set.
  • Gather and analyze MOS information.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production needs reports.
  • Demand employees meet housekeeping standards at the plant level.
  • Assist in LTA activities that will reduce cost or increase performance.
  • Demand that others maintain quality standards and can order a job to cease running if quality is in question.
  • Maintain established employee relations policies and safety and health regulations.
  • Schedule shift production and overlook time cards.
  • Attend production, safety, quality, and current event meetings.
  • Perform other essential functions as assigned.
