About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing a team to ensure safe and quality production, meeting production goals, and problem-solving on the shop floor. The Area Manager will focus on preventing non-conforming parts, auditing team performance, coordinating manufacturing activities, and implementing process control procedures. This position involves teaching, training, coaching, and disciplining team members, as well as assisting with scheduling overtime and die sets. The role requires gathering and analyzing MOS information, preparing production reports, and ensuring housekeeping standards are met. The Area Manager will also assist in LTA activities to reduce costs or increase performance and has the authority to enforce quality standards and halt production if quality is compromised. Maintaining employee relations policies and safety regulations, scheduling shift production, overlooking time cards, and attending various meetings are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that team members work safely, produce quality parts, meet production goals, and problem solve on the shop floor.
  • Prevent the reoccurrence of making non-conforming parts by generating ideas to either detect or eliminate.
  • Audit the team's performance.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing activity.
  • Set up procedures for the implementation of process control.
  • Assist with cross-training team members to create multi-functional employees.
  • Teach, train, coach, and assist team members and has authority to discipline as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling overtime and die set.
  • Gather and analyze MOS information.
  • Prepare daily and weekly production needs report.
  • Demand employees to meet housekeeping standards at the plant level.
  • Assist in LTA activities that will reduce cost or increase performance that the area manager will oversee and help implement.
  • Demand that others maintain the quality standards set by the quality department and can order a job to cease running if quality is in question.
  • Maintains established employee relations policies and safety and health regulations.
  • Schedule shift production and overlook time cards.
  • Attend production, safety, quality, and current event meetings.
  • Performs other essential functions as assigned.
