About The Position

This position provides support on a specific manufacturing team by coordinating the work of team members and assisting in the training of others. Area Leaders are expected to lead by example in their overall performance which includes producing quality product, attendance, and their conduct. Area Leaders are responsible for a core group of manufacturing related tasks. Leads provide supportive efforts related to improving department metrics, driving positive change, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures job rotation, while utilizing the production schedule/dispatch lists in determining priorities and available work.
  • Involved in the orientation and training of new team members with direction provided by the Superintendent.
  • Communicates with Superintendent and other Shift Leads each day on status of work and any production related issues.
  • Responsible for contacting required support personnel (Engineering, Quality, Production Unit Manager, etc.), including Maintenance, as needed, to address issues with the equipment or process so that production can continue.
  • Responsible for ensuring that team members maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Responsible for promoting and adhering to safety policies and procedures and ensures the timely reporting and completion of Incident Reports, as well as, participates in accident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Provides input to the Superintendent regarding employee performance.
  • Participates with the Superintendent in the selection process of new hires.
  • Supports and ensures the consistent application of all company policies and all other decisions made by Management or the Superintendent.
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining a harassment-free work environment.
  • Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.
  • Support, promote, and perform in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of DSB Technologies which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
