About The Position

The Area Field Manager promotes the U-Haul brand and educates independent business partners and leaders about the benefits of becoming a U-Haul dealer. The role manages a designated route, developing small-business relationships and growing the U-Haul dealership organization. The manager analyzes route profit and loss, supports transactions and local market growth, maintains U-Haul equipment and displays, distributes equipment using a U-Haul service vehicle, and arranges recovery of lost, stolen, or abandoned equipment. The position includes ongoing education through U-Haul University. The listed compensation is $3,800 to $4,000 monthly; the posting also states compensation of $50,000 per year.

The role is based at 7401 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, Virginia. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to obtain a D.O.T. health certificate from a federally registered medical examiner are required. Applicants must be at least 18. The work involves moderate risks and may require protective gear. Physical demands include extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Promote the U-Haul brand and educate independent business partners and leaders on the advantages of becoming a U-Haul dealer.
• Prospect small businesses along the designated route and open and grow the U-Haul dealership organization.
• Develop and manage relationships with small-business owners and U-Haul dealerships, providing insight into local markets and training dealers on growth opportunities.
• Manage route profit and loss and grow the route through transactions by providing products and services to local communities.
• Service and maintain U-Haul equipment and displays to support operational excellence and marketability.
• Work with support staff to ensure U-Haul dealerships along the route operate successfully and efficiently.
• Operate and maintain a properly stocked U-Haul service vehicle to distribute equipment throughout the route.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on U-Haul equipment.
• Arrange recovery of lost, stolen, or abandoned U-Haul equipment.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
