About The Position

The Area Field Manager promotes the U-Haul brand and educates independent business partners and leaders about the benefits of becoming U-Haul dealers. The role involves working outside an office to manage, plan, and execute a day-to-day workload across a designated route. The position is located at 12060 Lusher Rd, Spanish Lake, Missouri 63138, and is not eligible for employer sponsorship; applicants must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship. The manager works with small businesses to prospect, open, and grow U-Haul dealerships; develops business relationships with owners and dealers; and uses local market insight to help dealers identify growth opportunities. The role also includes managing route profitability, servicing and maintaining equipment and displays, supporting dealerships with U-Haul staff, operating a service vehicle, performing minor equipment repairs, recovering lost or abandoned equipment, and participating in ongoing training through U-Haul University. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective clothing or gear may be required. Physical activity includes spending extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance. Requirements

Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain a D.O.T. health certificate from a federally registered medical examiner.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be legally authorized to work without requiring employer sponsorship.
Must be able to move a minimum of 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.

Responsibilities

Prospect small businesses along a designated route to open and grow the U-Haul dealership organization.
Develop and manage relationships with small business owners and U-Haul dealerships, providing insight into local markets and training dealers on potential growth opportunities.
Manage route profit and loss through analysis and grow the route through transactions by providing products and services to local communities.
Service and maintain U-Haul equipment and displays to support operational excellence and marketability.
Work with support staff to help ensure the success and efficient operation of U-Haul dealerships on the route.
Operate a properly stocked and maintained U-Haul service vehicle to distribute equipment throughout the route.
Perform minor repairs and maintenance on U-Haul equipment.
Arrange recovery of lost, stolen, or abandoned U-Haul equipment.
Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
