About The Position

The Area Field Manager actively promotes the U-Haul brand and educates independent business partners and leaders about the benefits of becoming a U-Haul dealer. The role manages a designated route and works with small businesses and dealerships to develop the dealer network, support local growth, and deliver U-Haul products and services to the communities served. The manager also maintains and distributes equipment, supports dealership operations, and participates in ongoing U-Haul education.

The position is based at 1221 S Memorial Dr, Prattville, Alabama 36067. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine product users in Alabama and several other listed states.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain a D.O.T. health certificate from a federally registered medical examiner.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require employer sponsorship.
• In Alabama, applicants who use nicotine products are not eligible for hire or re-hire under the stated company practice.

Responsibilities

• Prospect small businesses within the designated route and open and grow the U-Haul dealership organization.
• Develop and manage relationships with small business owners and U-Haul dealerships, offering professional insight into local markets and training dealers on potential growth opportunities.
• Manage route profit and loss through analysis and grow the route’s transactions by providing products and services to the communities served.
• Service and maintain U-Haul equipment and displays to support operational excellence and marketability.
• Work with support staff to ensure U-Haul dealerships within the route operate successfully and efficiently.
• Operate a properly stocked and maintained U-Haul service vehicle to distribute equipment throughout the route.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on U-Haul equipment.
• Arrange recovery of lost, stolen, or abandoned U-Haul equipment.
• Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
