This role involves living and exemplifying the Five Principles of Mars, Inc., acting as the Responsible Veterinarian for board permits, and managing controlled substance inventory. The position focuses on doctor engagement and retention, overseeing coaching programs for new veterinarians, and ensuring experiential learning for clinical, surgical, and dental skills. The Area Chief of Staff partners with talent acquisition to recruit veterinary talent, acts as a brand ambassador in the local community, and delivers an excellent hospital experience to students and candidates. They work with associate doctors to ensure they achieve productivity goals through high-quality medicine, preventive care, and client experience. The role is accountable for delivering veterinary operations KPIs for assigned hospitals, partnering with practice managers to develop and execute plans, and ensuring hospital OGSM performance. A key responsibility is developing a veterinary leadership talent bench and succession plan. Compliance with Banfield's clinical essentials, government regulations, and industry standards is crucial, achieved through quality assessments, medical record reviews, audits, and patient safety event reviews. Hospital operations must meet all regulatory requirements, including controlled substance management and radiation safety. The role champions a preventive care culture, drives access to care and superior client service, and is responsible for resolving client complaints related to medical standard of care. Management of medical equipment inventory and requests is also part of the role. The ultimate goal is to deliver the highest level of veterinary care to every pet in a professional and ethical manner, ensuring an exceptional client and pet experience.
