About The Position

AECOM is seeking an experienced Architecture Designer II for our Carolinas B+P group, based in the North Charleston, SC office to support advanced manufacturing and federal project types. This role provides architectural guidance, design development, and production support across a range of project delivery methods, working closely with senior staff and project teams from concept through construction administration. AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. With a range of expertise from strategy and design through project realization, we create better outcomes to grow economies, protect natural systems, conserve natural resources, make societies more equitable and connect and engage people through innovative, sustainable design solutions. Our Carolinas B+P teams focus on providing design services in the Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics market, including logistics centers and industrial facilities, while also supporting a wide range of project types across the federal and private sectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture plus two (2) years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Demonstrated experience with design solution development, building systems and detailing, applicable codes and life safety requirements, differing building types and project delivery methods, as well as programming and planning methods
  • Must be a United States Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Initiating and developing design and construction document drawings through completion for assigned projects, in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project's discipline leaders.
  • Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.
  • Preparing specifications, reports, and related data tables.
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform technical assignments of moderate complexity within approved schedules and budgets.
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting staff.
  • Design and production work, including architectural detailing through construction documents, using Revit.
  • Perform construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittments.
  • Perform field verification and travel to project sites as needed (less than 10%).
  • Perform QA/QC reviews when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
