About The Position

Omni Design is seeking an early-career architectural professional for a Level I to Level II growth path role. This position offers the opportunity to learn quickly, contribute immediately, and develop into a well-rounded designer. The role involves building production and coordination skills by working alongside licensed architects and engineers on commercial, civic, and municipal projects. As the individual grows, they will take on more responsibility, including leading drawing sets, coordinating consultants, and becoming a key project team member. The role offers direct work with the Principal Architect and senior staff, with no two weeks being the same and no siloed tasks, providing insight into the entire architectural process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch), M.Arch, or equivalent degree from an accredited architecture program — or expected graduation within 12 months.
  • 1 – 4 years of experience in an architecture office, internship, or relevant firm environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD — working knowledge of architectural drafting and drawing organization.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production.
  • Strong communication skills — you ask when you're unsure, you follow through, and you meet deadlines.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work in-office in San Luis Obispo County.

Nice To Haves

  • Revit proficiency at production level — independent construction document drawing sets.
  • ARE enrollment in progress or intent to pursue licensure — we actively support this.
  • Exposure to commercial, civic, municipal, or public agency project types.
  • Familiarity with California Building Code, Title 24, or ADA basics.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar PDF markup tools.
  • Portfolio demonstrating design work and/or production drawing sets.

Responsibilities

  • Produce architectural drawings and construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD under the direction of senior staff.
  • Translate design concepts and redline corrections into clean, accurate drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of project submittents, permit packages, and reproduction of documents.
  • Support QA/QC review of project documents before submittal.
  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and the internal team to ensure drawings are complete and coordinated.
  • Track project milestones and deadlines alongside the Project Manager.
  • Assist with plan check responses, agency submittals, and permit processing.
  • Participate in project meetings—client, consultant, and internal.
