About The Position

As an Architectural Technician for NVR, parent company of Ryan Homes and NVHomes, you will be part of the team responsible for developing the construction documentation and programming used throughout the sales, permitting, and homebuilding processes. We are looking for intelligent, highly motivated, positive, results-oriented individuals to join our Architectural Services Department! You will learn all aspects of the product development process as part of an energetic culture where we thrive on teamwork, collaboration, and innovative ideas. The process will allow you to make a meaningful contribution to the company as you participate in the creation of the 3D building information model (BIM) within AutoCAD. This includes structural analysis, floor and roof framing layouts, wall bracing analysis, and truss design. Once product development is complete, you will have the opportunity to assist homebuilding personnel in resolving permitting and inspection issues and respond to questions from the field. Requirements

1+ years’ experience with AutoCAD
Ability to read and interpret construction documents
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational abilities
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced, professional team environment
Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills

Nice To Haves

Experience with 3D modeling software preferred
Bachelors or Associates degree or equivalent drafting / AutoCAD work experience
Experience in residential homebuilding or production homebuilding preferred

Responsibilities

Develop highly detailed and accurate residential construction documents including elevations, foundations, floor plans, building sections, kitchen & bath plans, electrical layouts, stair designs, and floor framing plans.
This requires a demonstrated understanding of written and verbal guidelines on elements such as structure, residential construction, material takeoffs, NVR option system, roof framing, panel fabrication, and/or building codes.
Research and compile information, consulting with project team members and subject matter experts as required, to support overall project completion.
Maintain assigned portion of the project schedule.
Develop wall panel layouts and fabrication reports using proprietary software applications.
Review own work for basic technical and quality compliance. Developing ability, experience, and knowledge to meet the full quality and technical standards set by NVR.
