About The Position

The Drafting Department is responsible for creating 3D models, drawings, and production tickets for the manufacturing of precast concrete products. As an Architectural Revit Technician, individuals are expected to advance their skillset, taking on more responsibilities in training, checking, design, and troubleshooting. The role may also involve assisting other departments as directed by a Team Lead or Management.

Requirements

  • Degree from a technical school or equivalent experience demonstrating Revit Technician in Training knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Demonstrated mastery of a Revit Technician in Training skillset.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, ACC Docs, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with all finishes and finish details, mix changes, returns etc.
  • Understanding of basic handling hardware and proprietary cast-in materials.
  • Ability to have minimal redlines on checked items, with all pieces checkable from layouts without computer use.
  • At least 1 year of precast drafting experience (required for Hybrid option, implying a baseline for the role).

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D Models, drawings, and production tickets for precast concrete products.
  • Perform training, checking, design, and troubleshooting as skillset progresses.
  • Assist other departments as needed or directed by Team Lead or Management.
  • Work full time, with some overtime or Saturday work.
  • Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Work independently and stay on task despite daily interruptions.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Team Lead and Management.
  • Build layouts, elevations, sections, and FC’s during the shop drawing process for both structural and architectural projects.
  • Alert engineering to non-typical situations such as nonstandard handling lengths, connection/embed issues, panels with less than two gravities, and four lateral ties.
  • Review and understand Molin Sioux Falls products for interfaces with other materials for tolerances, notches required, and connections.
  • Identify the need for additional details and sections as job requires.
  • Review and understand production and construction sequencing and constructability.
  • Manage projects and deadlines with moderate supervision.
