The Architectural Project Manager leads architecture projects from planning through construction closeout, overseeing scope, schedule, fees, staffing, resources, work plans, and deliverables. The role leads architectural documentation from schematic design through construction documents, translating design intent into coordinated, buildable documents and conducting quality reviews to catch accuracy, constructability, assembly, and detailing issues. The position coordinates code, accessibility, zoning, permitting, and multidisciplinary consultants, and serves as the day-to-day client contact. It manages project meetings, expectations, budgets, hours, scope changes, and additional services. During bidding, permitting, and construction, the project manager reviews RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings, visits sites, documents field observations, and resolves construction issues while protecting design intent. The role also coordinates architects, designers, and technical staff across disciplines, gives direction and feedback, supports less-experienced team members, and contributes to improved standards, tools, and processes. The position is suited to an ownership-minded professional who anticipates issues and communicates directly.
