About The Position

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager with a strong architectural background and preferably an active architectural license to join their team in California. This role involves leading impactful architectural projects from planning and design through construction, collaborating across disciplines in a dynamic, global design environment. The Project Manager will oversee the full project lifecycle, lead teams, interface with clients, ensure quality, and drive project delivery success. The US West Buildings + Places Business Line offers opportunities across various project typologies including Science & Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Commercial, Aerospace, Higher Education, Industrial and Process, Transportation, Aviation, Sports, and Federal market sectors. Requirements

Bachelor’s from an accredited program
6+ years of professional experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Proficiency in design and project management software, such as Revit, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
Strong understanding of California building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting processes.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
Licensed Architect in California.
Experience in architectural project management, including experience in California market.
Proven experience managing projects of varying scales and complexities.
LEED Accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices.
Experience with public and private sector projects, including mixed-use, commercial, and institutional developments.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage architectural projects through all phases of design and construction
Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and timely delivery
Serve as primary client contact throughout project development
Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation and construction drawings
Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables in alignment with client expectations
Support internal resourcing, consultant coordination, and team performance
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and AECOM standards
May manage various size groups of architects, designers and/or specialists.
May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.
Responsible for providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.
