About The Position

Plans, analyzes, estimates, and completes conceptual and detailed work products in support of the strategic efforts for facilities projects, ensuring efficiency within the designated budget. Serves as an ambassador of Enterprise Physical Operations. Consults and communicates with WashU Medicine departments regarding planning and project advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic efforts by delivering detailed analyses of project productivity and efficiency, as well as long-term estimates.
  • Conduct a needs assessment and propose efficiency solutions.
  • Support and lead project management initiatives, and ensure the effective transition of space-planning efforts into project implementation, supporting a successful project workflow.
  • Provide development of detailed conceptual planning, programming, and estimating, as well as project transition (transition from planning to projects).
  • Participate in planning and support the development of information for presentations and negotiations with business units.
  • Remain consistent and aligned with WUSM Senior Administration directives and plans. This includes plans to maximize space use and productivity to meet WashU Research, Teaching, and Clinical needs.
  • Participate in supporting complex scheduling planning projects, monitor work in progress, and complete all documentation related to these efforts utilizing assigned technology, tools, processes, and templates.
  • Consult with departments to qualify and quantify planning details.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the department by promoting a positive image through courtesy, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Assist in the scope development for the planning group and may include participation in RFQs or services, as well as for assigned studies and/or planning projects.
  • May participate and support the ongoing initiatives for negotiations and contracting.
  • Estimate project cost, evaluate proposed modifications and changes as planning evolves, offering recommendations and solutions for efficiency and favorability in expenditures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
