About The Position

The Operations Planner coordinates transportation and order activities, including providing quotes for nonstandard transportation such as expedited shipments and registering orders with special requirements. The role ensures shipments are picked up and delivered on time, tracks and traces shipments, applies appropriate late reason codes, and works with customers to resolve inventory discrepancies and communicate exception reports and damage assessments. The planner also contributes to process documentation, standard operating procedures, and improvement opportunities based on customer needs. The position is based in an office setting, with travel to the warehouse as needed.

Requirements

• Customer service background in logistics and ability to handle problem resolution in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook, with strong emphasis on using Excel for tracking and analysis.
• Ability to manage inventory in RF, portal, and manual system environments.
• Understanding of transportation modes and service levels.

• Previous experience coordinating telecommunications site deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Provide rate quotes for nonstandard transportation, including expedited shipments.
• Register orders that may include special requirements such as extra labor, forklifts, or cranes.
• Ensure on-time pickup and delivery, and track and trace shipments.
• Apply applicable late reason codes in accordance with service failure tracking and reporting.
• Work with customers to resolve inventory discrepancies; follow up on exception reporting and damage assessments and communicate with customers.
• Participate in process flow documentation and standard operating procedures, and identify improvement opportunities based on customer needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
