About The Position

As an Architectural Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the design and development of architectural projects from concept through completion. You will collaborate closely with licensed architects and project teams to create detailed drawings, models, and presentations that effectively communicate design ideas. This position offers hands-on experience in applying architectural principles, building codes, and sustainable design practices to real-world projects. You will contribute to site analysis, material selection, and construction documentation, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the architectural process. Ultimately, your work will help ensure that projects meet client expectations, regulatory requirements, and aesthetic standards while advancing your professional growth toward licensure.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited architecture degree program (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit for architectural drafting and modeling.
  • Basic understanding of architectural design principles, building materials, and construction methods.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with additional design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED certification processes.
  • Previous internship or work experience in an architectural or construction firm.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and zoning regulations within the United States.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, plans, and 3D models using CAD and BIM software.
  • Support the development of design concepts and presentations for client meetings and internal reviews.
  • Conduct research on building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainable design strategies relevant to projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and consultants to coordinate project details and resolve design challenges.
  • Participate in site visits and document observations to inform design decisions and construction processes.
  • Help prepare construction documents, specifications, and permit applications under the guidance of senior architects.
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with firm standards.
