About The Position
David Weekley Homes is seeking an Architectural Drafter to join its Design Services Team in Austin. The role focuses on residential design and customer service, developing site drawings and construction documents, revising architectural plans, and coordinating changes across affected sheets. The position works with field Team Members on projects under construction and collaborates with fellow Team Members and City Coordinators to solve problems and meet established deadlines. This is an on-site position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or associate degree in Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to work well under time constraints.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Service-oriented mindset and a team-player attitude.
- Enthusiastic attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for residential design and customer service.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of residential plans and construction drawings.
Responsibilities
- Develop site drawings showing house location on the lot.
- Develop construction documents for permitting and project starts.
- Revise architectural plans as marked and coordinate all sheets affected by changes.
- Interact with field Team Members regarding projects under construction.
- Ensure established deadlines are met.
- Facilitate problem solving with fellow Team Members and City Coordinators.
