About The Position

GHD’s Design & Delivery Organization (DDO) is seeking an Architectural Designer to join its Alaska architectural delivery team. The role combines technical knowledge and project delivery responsibilities while supporting architectural projects, DDO standards, delivery excellence, and employee development. The position is based in GHD’s Anchorage office and partners closely with regional teams, project managers, and other business groups across the West Region. GHD uses a hybrid work model, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Architectural Design.

Responsibilities

• Produce architectural concepts and prototypes for building or construction designs, and design and supervise feasibility testing to support the development and validation of architectural solutions.
• Analyze portions of bid solicitation project requirements and gather and assess information about their feasibility for the organization.
• Conduct building and technical surveys to determine building condition and identify defects and associated risks.
• Help senior colleagues manage external client and customer relationships using relevant sales or client systems.
• Create architectural drawings to support communication, evaluation, and implementation of architectural solutions.
• Contribute to the development of proposed architectural solutions and implement feasibility testing to provide feedback and data that validate the design.
• Conduct technological and organizational feasibility studies, document findings, and complete cost-benefit analyses concerning changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
• Develop capabilities through assessment and development planning, formal and informal training, and coaching; gain or maintain relevant external professional accreditation.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, conferences, and specialist media.
