About The Position

AECOM is seeking a motivated, creative, and detail-oriented Entry-Level Architectural Designer to join their team in Columbus, OH. This role is an excellent opportunity for an emerging design professional who is passionate about architecture, eager to learn, and excited to collaborate with experienced architects and multidisciplinary teams. As an Entry-Level Designer, you will support a variety of project types through all phases of design and documentation, gaining valuable hands-on experience while developing your technical and design skills. Working alongside industry-leading professionals, you will contribute to design development, prepare project deliverables, assist with technical documentation, and help bring innovative architectural solutions to life. This position offers a strong foundation for professional growth, mentorship, and career development within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The Ohio Buildings + Places Team is one of the most established and highest-performing B+P practices in AECOM’s West Region, operating as a fully integrated, multidisciplinary studio offering Architecture & Interiors, Building Systems & Structural Engineering, Urbanism, Planning & Landscape Architecture, Workplace Strategy & Advisory, and Digital Delivery & Technology Solutions. Design excellence is at the core of their identity, with Ohio B+P projects earning nearly 30 design awards since 2022.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Architecture + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in architecture
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling; Revit, Sketchup, and/or Rhino desired
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • Desire to actively work toward architectural licensure
  • LEED Accreditation
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in high-energy, collaborative team and project environments
  • Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes, type and complexity
  • Produce rapid visualization of design concepts and assist with building presentations to clients
  • Developing iterative solutions for a variety of design working under supervision by senior design staff
  • Adapts and modifies design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations
  • Coordinates design activities with other engineering disciplines
  • Participate in design through all phases, from concept to construction administration.
