About The Position

As an Architectural Designer, you’ll be designing architectural concepts for greenfield development and urban infill projects at the early conceptual and pre-development stages. Working collaboratively as part of the Design team, and reporting to the Senior Manager, Architectural Design, you’ll translate project briefs into clear, compelling design proposals and contribute to projects in a meaningful way. Full-time position (40 hours/week, with a minimum of 4 days per week in our Kirkland office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Architecture
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience
  • Solid proficiency in architectural design with working knowledge of building systems and construction
  • Strong design, modeling, and presentation skills
  • Proficient with Revit
  • Proficient with 3D modeling and visualization software (Enscape, SketchUp)
  • Proficient with presentation and graphics software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Comfortable with AI-assisted workflows (Claude, Gemini)
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong drive towards action and delivering quality work
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Bilingual (french & english) in order to communicate to our colleagues outside of Quebec
  • Portfolio required as part of the application

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver site plan studies, massing studies, and design concepts for commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects.
  • Translate project objectives, site constraints, and client requirements into creative and practical design solutions.
  • Review municipal zoning by-laws and regulatory requirements and document key constraints to inform design decisions.
  • Produce high-quality presentation packages, drawings, conceptual renderings, and visual studies for internal stakeholders and project presentations.
  • Prepare schedules, quantity take-offs, area calculations, and other project feasibility studies.
  • Prepare schematic design concepts for buildings as a part of the development process including selection of materials and finishes.
  • Identify design or compliance issues and propose solutions, escalating complex or high-impact matters as required.
  • Coordinate with internal clients and project teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute ideas that improve project quality, constructability, and efficiency.
  • Research and apply current architectural trends, best practices, building technologies, and applicable codes.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting project schedules and deliverables.
