About The Position

SV Design is seeking a personable, motivated, and organized Architectural Designer to join its residential team in Chatham, Massachusetts. The position primarily supports mid- to large-sized, high-end residential projects. The designer serves as the draftsperson for assigned projects and is responsible for quality, coordination with internal and external teams, and schedule. The role develops design layouts and features through research, documentation, and coordination; documents existing building conditions; contributes to schematic design; and creates detailed Revit models. The designer incorporates revisions, supports project managers, produces design development drawings with architects, and helps advance projects through design development and construction documentation. The position also includes reviewing construction and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards. This is an in-office position at the Chatham, Massachusetts location. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance and be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Requirements

Professional degree in Architecture from a U.S.-accredited program or equivalent.
0–6 years of professional architectural experience; residential project experience is preferred.
Strong ability to communicate design ideas through sketches and visual concepts.
Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Collaborative team player who values open communication and diverse perspectives.
Ability to take direction from senior staff and contribute to a supportive team environment.
Strong attention to detail and time management, with the ability to work efficiently across multiple tasks.
Motivated and professional, with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

Responsibilities

Develop design layouts and features through research, documentation, and coordination with project teams.
Conduct field measurements and document existing building conditions for drafting and review.
Contribute to schematic design through hand drafting and computer-generated renderings.
Create detailed Revit models based on existing building dimensions and design sketches.
Accurately incorporate redline revisions across all project phases.
Assist project managers with material sourcing, scheduling, errands, and preparing presentation boards.
Produce design development drawings in coordination with architects to align with design intent.
Support projects through design development and construction documentation phases.
Review construction drawings and shop drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards.
