Architect | Facilities Design & Engineering Team

Texas Instruments•Dallas, TX

About The Position

Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Architect to join its Facilities Design & Engineering team and support growth and new manufacturing footprints. In an Owner’s Representative role, the Architect partners with external architecture and engineering firms to develop, review, and verify architectural solutions for new wafer fabs, assembly-test facilities, cleanrooms, and other large-scale greenfield and brownfield projects worldwide. The work focuses on building-level design, cleanroom environments, occupancy planning, and site-to-building layout, complementing the broader engineering effort. The role leads architectural design from concept through construction documents, including cleanroom planning, occupancy and space utilization, site-plan integration, interior fit-outs, and coordination of MEP systems. It ensures designs meet relevant building and fire-protection codes, cleanroom standards, and TI sustainability goals. The Architect serves as a primary liaison for TI operations and maintenance teams, coordinates external consultants, reviews construction submittals, supports construction through RFIs and inspections, and establishes standards and guidance for TI projects globally. The position also supports architectural budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and cost-saving efforts; participates in multidisciplinary design reviews; represents TI in technology forums; and contributes to TI’s Technical Ladder Organization while mentoring junior architects or engineers. International travel may be required as project needs dictate. Texas Instruments will not sponsor applicants for visas or work authorization for this position.

  • Coordinate MEP systems within architectural models.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire-protection regulations, cleanroom standards, and TI sustainability goals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between TI operations and maintenance teams and external architecture firms; gather user requirements and translate them into design intent.
  • Review and approve architectural submittals, shop drawings, mock-ups, and material samples.
  • Respond to RFIs and conduct on-site inspections to verify construction aligns with approved design documents.
  • Manage external architectural consultants, including scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain architectural templates, design guides, and best-practice libraries.
  • Advise global TI sites on cleanroom design, building circulation, ADA compliance, and workplace ergonomics.
  • Promote architectural solutions that improve reliability, reduce construction costs, and enhance energy efficiency.
  • Manage architectural scope support budgets and expenditure reviews, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage architectural scope statements of work, project schedules, and deliverables.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews to align architectural, structural, and systems engineering disciplines.
