About The Position

Robson Forensic is seeking a licensed Architect with 15+ years of post-degree experience and a broad understanding of architectural design, construction, and premises safety to join their team as a Forensic Investigator. In this role, you will investigate architectural and premises safety incidents, analyze documents and on-site conditions, write scientifically sound reports, and provide expert testimony. You will delve into the 'why' behind incidents, critically assessing decision-making, operational procedures, and the standard of care. Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Architecture and an active state licensure in good standing.
  • NCARB membership w/ multi-state licensure eligibility.
  • 15+ years of post-degree experience, designing or working on buildings with a variety of Use Groups - Assembly, Business, Educational, Mercantile, Industrial, Institutional, Factory, and Residential, mixed-use.
  • Experience with code evaluation, specification writing and/or diagnosing building defects and design analysis.
  • Proven experience in construction, demonstrated through contract administration, construction management, design/build, and/or general contracting.
  • In-depth knowledge of building safety and construction technology.
  • Excellent technical & analytical skills.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely climb/navigate ladders, roofs, scaffolding, etc. for inspection activities.
  • Must have a clean background screen, a driver’s license, and the ability to drive.

Nice To Haves

  • AIA membership a plus.
  • Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI), or willing to become certified.
  • Property management experience a plus.
  • BIM experience a plus.
  • Prior forensic experience is not required. We seek professionals eager to apply their deep industry knowledge to a challenging new domain.
