About The Position
Lucas Tree Experts is seeking motivated individuals to train as Ground Operations Technicians/Arborist Trainees. No tree-industry experience is necessary; the company provides free, hands-on, on-the-job training, including CDL training. Trainees will learn skills across the tree-care trade, including felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management. The role is a full-time, year-round outdoor physical labor position in Manchester, New Hampshire, with a requirement to work 45 hours weekly. The company pays for licensing, certifications, and educational courses that support career advancement, and provides wage increases for certifications obtained.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Have a current and valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Be able to work 45 hours weekly.
- Be able to work outdoors in various types of weather.
- Be physically able to perform the role, including walking on uneven ground and carrying 75 pounds.
- Be willing to work at varying heights.
- Be willing and able to learn to operate a bucket truck and equipment safely.
- Be willing and able to obtain a CDL A or B license.
- Be willing and able to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications required for the position.
- Successfully complete a post-offer physical and drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle check.
Responsibilities
- Manually remove vegetation from work areas.
- Apply pesticides.
- Safely operate forestry equipment, including skidders, mowers, chainsaws, and ATVs.
- Perform line clearance, pruning, and tree removals.
- Learn felling, climbing, rigging, equipment operation, and vegetation management.
- Learn to operate a bucket truck and other equipment safely.
