About The Position
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader for the Forest Lake, Minnesota area. This is an outdoor, on-site role directing crew members and equipment and planning and executing assigned tree-care work. The Crew Leader safely leads a team providing arboricultural care for clients, including climbing and tree maintenance, while maintaining and operating tools and equipment. Davey provides training, career-development opportunities, job-specific equipment and safety gear. The position is permanent and full-time, with travel expectations of up to 25%.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience as a climbing arborist.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
- Love of the outdoors.
Nice To Haves
- CDL; preferred but not required.
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
- ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional certification.
Responsibilities
- Direct crew members and equipment and plan and execute assigned work or tasks.
- Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
- Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
- Apply the Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E.) process.
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout tree canopies.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning-protection systems.
- Remove hazardous trees.
- Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
- Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
