About The Position

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced AR/AP Specialist to join our dedicated finance team in New York. This full-time role is crucial for managing our company's day-to-day financial transactions with precision and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of both accounts payable and receivable, contributing directly to the financial health and smooth operation of our business.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience as an Accounts Receivable/Payable Specialist or in a similar accounting role.
• A strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and best practices.
• High proficiency in accounting software and the MS Office Suite, particularly with advanced skills in Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential.
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, including receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, tracking expenses, and preparing payments.
• Oversee all accounts receivable functions, including generating accurate invoices, posting customer payments, and monitoring account statuses.
• Conduct regular reconciliations of bank statements, vendor accounts, and customer ledgers to ensure accuracy.
• Proactively manage collections on overdue accounts, communicating with clients in a professional manner to resolve payment issues.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, preparing necessary reports and documentation.
• Maintain organised and accurate financial records in compliance with company policies.
• Liaise with internal departments, vendors, and clients to investigate and resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems.
