About The Position

Oversees the mechanical operations of swimming pools, splashpads and other aquatic features including the scheduling and performing of care, maintenance and repair of the aquatic pump room, equipment, features, water quality and operations at the Senior Pool, Juantia Maxfield Aquatic Center, Gilda Garcia Garza Aquatic Center and all splashpad locations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains mechanical systems of all aquatic facilities including splashpads. These duties may include daily mechanical operation checks at all facilities/locations, daily water quality checks at all facilities, cleaning of strainer baskets as needed, servicing of chemical dosing pumps/injection system, and servicing of regenerative media filters and high-rate sand filters.
  • Maintains pool area equipment. This may include repairs and servicing of play features, slides, pool lights, aquatic grates, main drains, plaster, tile concrete, ADA equipment, etc.
  • Provides technical guidance for supplies, parts and equipment and services requested by contractors for major repairs.
  • Develops, reviews, and implements a schedule of routine and preventative maintenance of pool, tiles, plaster, water slides, play structures, splash pads and all other components.
  • Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely manner and maintain records and reports as required.
  • Resolves maintenance and repair issues in a timely and cost-effective manner, according to the industry standards, relevant manufacturer’s specifications and in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for updating Facility Maintenance Manual, Chemical Records and SDS.
  • Responsible for ordering necessary supplies, parts and equipment.
  • Schedules for chemical deliveries.
  • Provides budgeting assistance to supervisors on renovation projects, equipment upgrades, chemical cost, and any other items that arise.
  • Manages service, maintenance and chemical contracts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
