About The Position

The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for providing safe group exercise instruction that supports members’ health and fitness goals while adhering to industry guidelines established by ACSM, ACE, or AFAA. The Group Exercise Instructor/Water Exercise Instructor also develops and instructs highly motivational group exercise classes for participants of all fitness and skill levels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general studies education required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Appropriate certification required and must be maintained. Listed certifications include: group exercise (ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or NDEITA); cycling exercise (Mad Dogg, Fitour, or equivalent); water exercise (American Red Cross, A-PAI, AEA, Arthritis Foundation, or WSI); yoga, Pilates, or Barre; martial arts/boxing-based class or equivalent; and fitness (ACE, AFAA, ACMS, NASM, ISSA, NSCA, or equivalent).

• Provide safe group exercise instruction that contributes to members’ health and fitness goals.
• Follow industry guidelines established by ACSM, ACE, or AFAA.
• Develop and instruct motivational group exercise classes for people of varied fitness and skill levels.
