Aquatics Coordinator

Bend Metro and Park Recreation District•Bend, OR

About The Position

The Aquatics Coordinator provides leadership and supervision for aquatic programs and recreation facilities, primarily during evenings and weekends. The role maintains program quality, customer service, and safety standards; supports and directs front-line aquatic staff; and communicates with staff, volunteers, coaches, patrons, and facility personnel. The coordinator helps plan, develop, market, implement, and evaluate aquatic programs and services, and may perform Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, or Facility Shift Lead duties as needed. This is a regular, full-time, year-round position scheduled for 40 hours per week. The current schedule is Sunday through Thursday, and weekend hours are required. The position works under the general supervision of the Aquatic Supervisor and coordinates daily with the Facility Shift Lead. In assisting the supervisor, the coordinator may direct and assign work, adjust schedules, approve timesheets, train and coach staff, set goals, evaluate staff, and assist with recruiting. Duties may take place indoors or outdoors and include varied hours, potentially including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Some positions may have a rotating on-call schedule and emergency call-outs during off-duty hours.
