About The Position

The City of Greenbelt, MD is seeking an energetic and resourceful Aquatics Coordinator I to work at the Greenbelt Aquatics and Fitness Center (GAFC). This position is responsible for developing and implementing aquatic and fitness programs and activities at the GAFC. The role includes supervising staff—such as Fitness Attendants, Personal Trainers, Water Exercise Instructors, Lifeguard, Pool Managers, and Customer Service Representatives—as well as overseeing the daily operations, activities, and programs conducted within the GAFC.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a closely related field.
• One year of progressively responsible experience in an aquatic facility.
• Prince George’s County Pool Operator’s License.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification is preferred.
• An American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certification, or an equivalent credential, is required within three months of employment.
